Wool dyeing on Myaseter
Venabygdsfjellet

Saturday 16 July and Saturday 30 July
10:00 - approx. 15:00 o'clock

In former times yarn and textiles were dyed by colouring materials from nature. Among other things plants, lichen and mushrooms were used. Wool dyeing is an old handcraft and the colours are often natural and calm. It is exciting to make use of what the nature has to offer. Wool dyeing is one way to experience a piece of nature.

Activity
We begin with a walking tour in the area around Myaseter to collect plants, with which we will dye the yarn.
Afterwards we cook a plant soup and colour the yarn. We need approx. 5 hours for the wool dyeing. If you wish to use more or less time than 5 hours, we can of course agree upon this. The activity fits best for groups of two to eight participants.
When we are finished with the dyeing, you will get your dyed wool, a knitting pattern and a recipe for the wool dyeing to take home with you.

Meal
You can choose between bringing along your own picnic or get Lunch served at the Venabu Fjellhotell.

Bring along
The plant colouring mainly takes place outside, so you should bring appropriate shoes and clothes with you.

Time
The wool dyeing takes place on certain days in July. Groups that wish other days can order this.

Price
NOK 550, - per person
NOK 750, - per person including lunch
